In the US, lawmakers have not yet scheduled a vote on a measure that would protect amateur radio antennas from the restrictions or bans imposed by private homeowners associations, but a powerful nationwide lobbying group representing those associations is strengthening its opposition to the measure.
The Community Associations Institute met recently in Washington, DC, and announced it was giving top priority to fighting the passage of the Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act, which has support of both parties. Last year, ARRL launched a nationwide grassroots campaign in support of the legislation.
