If you've ever welcomed a rescued pet into your family or been an animal rescuer yourself, you'll want to share your experiences with fellow hams starting November 1st as the Dog Day Amateur Radio Club marks National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week 2026. Operators will be calling CQ with the callsign KØDOG using CW and SSB through to the 7th of November. The commemorative week was created by the Humane Society of the United States in 1996. Visit KØDOG's page on QRZ.com to see ways you can help your local rescue efforts.
