AMSAT-Canada has begun offering memberships to help promote amateur radio in space. The organisation recently celebrated the designation of MARMOTSat, a university-built CubeSat, as Canada's first official OSCAR designated satellite.
AMSAT-Canada hopes to continue its development and promotion of satellites and amateur radio and is preparing for a major role in the futureGEO project. The European Space Agency initiative is intended to provide digital and multi-mode satellite coverage for amateur radio in Europe and parts of North America.
